Information About Joining CBYRA

Why Join?

Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association organizes and sanctions racing through out the “Bay”.  Through its Executive Board and various committees we administer the racing program and coordinate the racing schedule with the member Yacht Clubs.  In addition we support various activities and sailors whether it is the Annapolis Race Week or an Olympic hopeful through our Grant Programs.

As a member you get access to the race schedule for Handicap and Cruising One Design sailors referred as the Greenbook for the Juniors the Redbook.  You are entitled to enter races and participate in the High Point Championships.  You must be a member to qualify for your class High Point Championship.

Types of Membership:

There are four types of membership available to you:

            Adult (Racing Skippers & others affiliated with a CBYRA Member Club

            Family (Single membership for a family)

            Associate (Crew and others not affiliated with a member club)

            Junior**

(**Have not reached their 19^th birthday by Dec 31^st in the year they are applying.)

Golden Anchor Membership

U.S. Sailing’s Golden Anchor program allows you to sign up for both CBYRA and US Sailing at the same time.  This affords you a discount over paying separately of $10.00.  Why sign up for U.S. Sailing?  As a member you are supporting the National organization and, therefore, sailing in general.  Please go to their website for a more complete discussion at www.ussailing.org.  Also for every sanctioned race there is a discount for being a member.

How to Join

You have two options available for joining CBYRA one is to mail in your application and payment by check and the second is to register and pay on-line (preferred) by clicking our link for New Member or Membership Renewal..
